Quantitative Proteomics
Our group deals with questions of cell signalling and the quantitative analysis of post-translational modifications (PTM). The aim of the group is to characterize disease-relevant changes in signalling networks in various animal models. The focus of the Krüger group is on the generation of protein profiles, which are determined using quantitative proteomics. The focus here is on analyzing skeletal muscle tissue that shows reduced neuronal innervation or has developed insulin resistance.
To identify newly synthesized proteins, we use stable isotope and bioorthongonal amino acid labelling of proteins. Using click chemistry and MS analysis, we can detect and enrich these labelled proteins in cells of living animals under normal and diseased conditions.
